For labels and managers: running multiple bands without the chaos
How labels and artist managers keep a roster organised - a workspace per band, version control on mixes, no-signup share links for pitching, and per-band finances.
By BandVolt
The short answer: manage each act in its own workspace rather than one giant shared drive. BandVolt gives every band on your roster a separate workspace - songs, versions, feedback, schedule, and finances - and Premium lets one person belong to unlimited bands. Label pricing is available for larger rosters via [email protected].
Managing one band generates a surprising amount of files, threads, and dates. Managing five multiplies it - and the standard label setup of a shared drive, a spreadsheet, and five WhatsApp groups does not multiply with it.
The failure mode is always the same: assets from different acts bleed together, nobody is sure which mix was approved, and the manager becomes a human router forwarding files between artists, producers, and press.
A workspace per act
The fix is separation with shared oversight. Each band gets its own workspace: its own song library, version history, calendar, files, and ledger. Members of one band see nothing of another. You - the manager or label contact - are a member of all of them, and switch between rosters without switching accounts.
On BandVolt, Premium membership makes this native: one person can belong to unlimited Premium bands, so the whole roster is a band switcher away.
Version control on every mix
When a label is signing off masters, “which file is the approved one?” is not an acceptable open question. Every mix an act uploads becomes a labelled, dated version of the song, in order, with a waveform player. Feedback is pinned to the exact second in the track, and Quick Compare plays versions side by side at the same position - so approval conversations happen on the actual audio, not around it.
Pitching without the friction
Sending music to press, playlist editors, promoters, and A&R is the daily grind. BandVolt generates a clean public page for a song - or a whole album or EP - that anyone can stream instantly with no account. One URL per campaign, revocable at any time, and the recipient never sees anything else in the workspace.
Dates and assets that stay attached
Each act’s gigs, sessions, and release dates live on that act’s shared calendar, with setlists and files - tech riders, stage plots, press shots, the EPK - attached to the events and folders they belong to. When a promoter asks for the rider at 11pm, it is not on a hard drive in someone’s flat.
Money per band, not per spreadsheet
Each workspace has its own ledger: income, expenses, recurring costs, receipts, and year summaries. Recoupment conversations and tour accounting start from numbers everyone already sees, kept separately per act.
Roster pricing
BandVolt is priced per band, not per seat - £9.99 a month covers an entire act, every member included. If you are running multiple bands, label pricing is available: contact [email protected] and we will put together a rate that works for your roster.
