Mix Health view showing release-readiness score and criterion breakdown

Mix Health in BandVolt runs an objective check on any mix version and returns a release-readiness score with plain-language guidance on what to fix. It flags loudness, clipping, and stereo issues early, puts a health badge on every version, and lets you compare scores between versions to confirm a revision actually improved things.

How it works

You choose when to run a health check on a specific mix version - analysis never starts automatically, so scratch ideas and reference imports stay unscored until you ask. A dedicated analyzer measures objective audio metrics and returns a deterministic 0–100 score with a badge and fix-it guidance.

Each run costs 5 Volts from the band's shared pool (refunded if the run is cancelled before completion, fails to enqueue, or permanently fails without a score). Guidance is rule-based, not LLM-generated - it explains what to fix and why.

What you can do

Check true peak, integrated LUFS, clipping, dynamic range, phase correlation, mono compatibility, sample rate, bit depth, channel format, and head/tail silence handling. Score bands map to Release Ready (90–100), Good (75–89), Fair (60–74), and Needs Work (0–59).

See a health badge on every analysed version at a glance, then compare scores in Quick Compare to confirm a revision moved the needle.

Why it matters

Subjective "sounds fine" debates waste sessions. An objective checklist catches loudness, clipping, and stereo problems before you send the mix to a distributor - and gives the band a shared language for what still needs work.
